Recipes: some Edible Schoolyard New Orleans favorites

Hibiscus Iced Tea

Hibiscus is high in Vitamin C and bioflavonoids. It's used to treat mild colds, flus, bruising, and swelling. It supports heart health and normal blood pressure. And it can be used to help with restlessness and falling asleep. And, my, those calyces are beautiful.

Category: Herbs & Medicines: Beverages

1 tsp dried hibiscus calyces
½ tsp dried lavender flowers
¼ tsp dried lemon balm
¼ tsp dried lemon balm
¼ tsp dried peppermint
Honey to taste

Steep all herbs in a tea ball or mesh bag in hot/boiling water for 20 minutes, strain, add honey, add ice, and keep cold in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
