Culinary Education: Teaching children how to prepare and enjoy the food they grow
ESYNOLA provides a comprehensive seed-to-table experience for FirstLine students. Hands-on cooking classes allow students to prepare and enjoy the foods grown in our gardens. At Samuel J. Green and Arthur Ashe Charter Schools, we have two state-of-the-art teaching kitchens that offer programming during the school day: 40-50 classes per week serving K-8th grade. At our sites without teaching kitchens, we offer after school cooking clubs, Food ABC’s, and a variety of food-related activities and special events. ESYNOLA's culinary events like Iron Chef and Market-to-Table connect students with chefs from the city's top restaurants.
